Started working on the left elevator trim tab. Got the servo mounted and calculated where the servo should mount to the acces plate. Made an attempt at bending the Elevator trim tabs and it was not pretty. Based on the following mistakes decided to order all new parts for the left elevator and start over: 1. Did not get the servo mounting position exact. 2. Elevator tab bend looks awful. 3. Dimpled a rib that should have been countersunk drilled.
Lesson learned from other RV builder websites:
Do not use the type of clamps shown in my photo to for bending the tabs on the elevator. Next time I will use "C" clamps since these provide much more pressure and will not allow the wooden bending blocks to move back when hitting them with the rivet gun.
Also turn down the air pressure on the compressor when doing this 10-20 PSI.
