Brief Description:  Started work on engine related tasks.

Moved my tools to the FBO hangar. Cleaned up the area and organized. Removed some left-over masking tape.

Cut out the diagram of the hole for the gascolator screw hole access and crawled under the plane to mark for the drilling. The template was not to scale - too small. Later at home I discovered the reason for that and made a new 100% to scale template.

Removed the left carburetor and associated stuff. Siphoned the coolant reservior into a coke bottle and removed the coolant hose that was in the way. Caught the residue of coolant with paper towels. At this point the left rear of the cooling shroud was clear for cutting.

Removed the lower left engine mount bolt - the easy one. Didn't like the looks of the LocTite knockoff product I had on hand so went to ACE and bought a new tube of the Permatex brand.

Tomorrow I will drill the gascolator acces hole, make the cooling shroud mod, and retorque all the engine mount cap scews to 30 ft/lbs using the blue loctite.
