1. 496 doesn't seem to be communicating with Dynon 180. 2. Dynon 180 locked up in flight one time, after oil pressure alarm. 3. Dynon 180 shut itself off during engine start once.
Spoke with Mike at Dynon. Suggestions:
1. Set 496 Serial Data Format to "Aviation In/NMEA & VHF Out". 2. Dump log file and send to Dynon. 3.Check internal battery voltage. Should be 16.4.
Went to hangar:
Changed 496 setup as instructed. GPS (magenta) data appeared immediately on Dynon HSI display. Downloaded data logs and checklists. Internal battery voltage only 12.4 under load.
Emailed Mike with results.
I'm concerned that the internal battery is not getting charged properly. To test it I will hook up a battery charger so I can leave the Dynon turned on overnight to charge the internal battery.
While at the hangar I checked the prop blade angles - they appear to be about 1 degree off. I will need to try and improve on that.
