Brief Description: Finished nose wheel mod, worked on ADS-B install.
|

|
In the morning I completed the nose fork improvement and nose wheel fairing conversion kits, and reinstalled same on airplane.
In the afternoon I got much appreciated help from Dylan Bumpus, and we installed both the GPS and ADS-B antennas, located and mounted the echoUAT ADS-B unit, completed the wiring, configured the unit via the iPad App, and confirmed operation of the GPS and ADS-B In.
Power was obtained by tapping into the power wire coming out of the control panel distribution unit and feeding the transponder. This circuit is fused for 7.5 amps. If this proves insufficiaent under full operating conditions I will upsize the fuse to 10 amps. The wire size downstream is sufficient for this.
Work remaining on this mod includes securing the wiring behind the baggage area bulkhead and in the avionics bay, and cutting the upholstery to accomadate the echoUAT box.
