Brief Description: Avionics part II, brakes, canopy.
Worked all morning clearing about a foot of very wet and heavy snow. More coming tonight.
Opened the avionics box from Stein Air and inventoried all components. Everything there and in good shape. Stored in house.
Used a cutting disk on the Dremel tool to rough out the canopy fiberglass. Used the vibrating sander with 60 grit paper to work up to the trim line, then finished edges with 100 and 150 paper. Rounded out and cleaned up the pivot bolt holes with a Dremel grinding wheel used on the drill to slow it down. Just happened to have the perfect size. Drilled out the holes and re-installed the three bolts on each side, that were removed for the fiberglassing. Applied another coat of filler to low spots and filled pin holes. Worked some filler into the edges to help smooth them out.
Installed the brake lines. Had a few bad moments when I thought for a little while that Dave and I had put something together backwards, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
