Brief Description:  Final (I hope) trimmed and finished the canopy.

While warming the shop from 32 to 80 I carefully marked with tape the 1/8" gap at the bottom of each canopy side. Also marked a couple of spots that were a little too close on the front. Fabricated the lift handles and match drilled to the skirts. Countersunk and tapped the holes in the C-1205 latch block. Unclecoed the bubble.

Carolyn helped me lift the bubble off the frame. I used the die grinder with the ScotchBrite disk to remove plastic back to the tape edges. Evened out the edges with 120 sandpaper on the orbital sander. Scraped down the edges. Hand sanded the canopy edges all the way around with 220 grit paper. Finished with some 1000 grit wet & dry paper I found in my car repair tools. The finish I got on all the edges is far smoother than the factory edge. Made an awful lot of dust!

Deburred all the holes in the canopy with the new plexiglass countersink tool. Checked all the holes for roundness and cracking. Found a couple of holes along the rear frame that were elongated due to my not getting the drill perfectly over the underlying hole. I will try to center those when I upsize the holes. Found one hole with a couple of tiny cracks around the periphery. Don't know what to do about that. The rest of the holes look pretty good.

Stopped by the hardware store on my way out to dinner, and picked up a smaller unibit to use in enlarging the canopy holes.

Tomorrow I'll coerce good old neighbor Brenda into sitting inside the cockpit while I drill the side skirts.
