Brief Description:  Marked bow, experimented with plexiglass.

Got to the shop about 3 PM. Found a piece of Lexan plexiglass in basement and used it as scrap to try various drills and techniques. I have 27 and 40 plexi drills from the Avery kit, but no 30, which the plans call for. I wonder why. Guess I'll have to order one if I want one. Tried a regular # 30 drill and it seemed to work reasonably well if used with very light pressure. Tried enlarging a 40 hole to 27 - the 27 drill really grabs when it goes through. I'll have to go real slow when I do that for real. Also experiented with various ways of removing excess material, which it appears I will need to do along the forward and aft edges.

Bought two more 3" clamps and lined the frame up and clamped. Tried a new method to mark the drill line on the forward bow. Taped the bow with white masking tape, and taped the inside of the glass with blue low-stick tape. Then dusted that tape with carpenters chalk. Carolyn helped me set the canopy in place and I pressed down along the bow line to transfer the chalk. Worked great - see picture. Made the 2" marks as instructed.

Still feeling pretty intimidated by the canopy.
