Brief Description:  Completed wiring, started control cables.

Been sick with a nasty cold and that kept me out of the shop for a few days. Back at it today, during an all day snowstorm. The good news is my better half took pity on me and did the snowblowing and shovelling!

My main objective for the next few work sessions is to tie up loose ends and finish tasks that are best accomplished while the airframe is still up on its side.

I started the day by finishing routing the static tube and trim wiring up over the rudder pedals and into the instrument compartment. Then installed the wiring aft to the future location of the remote compass sensor. In order to do this I had to clip some of the static tube cable ties that had been installed way back when the empennage was built. Then secured the wiring in the empennage near the autopilot servo, and worked my way forward, bundling and securing wiring as I went. Didn't like the way I had earlier routed the red wire to the fuel pump, so clipped it, rerouted, reconnected, and secured. Worked up into the area between the seats, where I checked that the wiring was in the proper channel and secured the nylon hold-downs. Installed cable ties on forward and to the sides.

Continued bundling and tying up through the tunnel, over the rudders, and into the instrument compartment. There's quite a mess of extra wire in there, but I'm not going to neaten that area up until I install the avionics, and see where the connectors really need to go. A few of the wires seem kind of short, and that is somewhat worrysome.

Next began work on the rudder cables. Ran them up through the fuselage and began securing the sleeves. Found I had to undo something done earlier. Emailed Van's to suggest a change here. Seperated and primed the rudder cable links. Completed the flaperon torque tubes.
