Brief Description:  Completed the panel base assembly.

Dry fit the pieces of the panel base assembly and match drilled into the longerons. Disassembled and deburred. Then reassembled all parts and riveted, including the 24 rivets I drilled out Tuesday to get at the longerons to increase the bend in them. In Step 12 I made the mistake of following the instructions to the letter, and riveted the panel base assembly to the longerons - all holes. Well, that's what it said to do. It didn't say to leave open the two holes on each side where the strut attach angles get riveted to the longerons. So - I had to roll the fuselage up on each side to get at and drill out those four rivets. Then completed the assembly without further incident.

Speaking of rolling the fuselage - I still have the fuselage on the rather high workbenches. I have not felt the need so far to lower the benches. And, I can fairly easily roll the fuselage up on either side to get at the interior. I think I will leave things set up like this until I do the wiring in the finish kit. Speaking of which, Van's called yesterday to say it has been shipped.
