Brief Description:  Drilled longerons.

Double checked the alignments and began match drilling the longerons. Cousin Larry dropped by and I pressed him into service following me with the clecos. Larry is mechanically challenged and never dreamed he would be working on an airplane!

Drilled every other hole on the sides, then drilled the vertical holes through the roll bar mounting plates. Then drilled all the remaining holes in the sides. Dissasembled the side skins and longerons and deburred the longerons. Roughed them up and cleaned them, and set aside for priming.

Stripped the blue stuff off the first side skin. Deburred all the inside openings and smoothed the outside edges. Scotchbrited and cleaned the inside surface for primer and interior paint.

Used the micrometer to check the width of the "fat" rivets in the wing spar. 1.17 inches. Measured my openings in the side skins - they weren't wide enough, so I filed them out to 1.18 - 1.19 inches. I took a picture of the opening with my wider end pockets. Didn't come out so good so I'll try for a better shot tomorrow.

Vacuumed up the drilling scrap from the assembly and turned it up on its side to shake out the rest of the junk.

Next - prep the other side skin, prime and paint interior, and reassemble all the parts - this time for good!
