This morning I finished fabricating the flaperon actuation brackets and the pivot brackets. Van's sends you aluminum stock and the builder goes into machine shop mode to fabricate the parts. I made the big rough cuts on neighbor Dave's horizontal band saw, and made the more delicate cuts with a hacksaw. Not too hard to get accurate cuts with a vise and a sharp 32 tooth blade. Used the drill press to drill the big holes and to start the thread tapping. I had previously printed out drawings to scale, and glued them to the stock as templates for the cutting and drilling. After cutting and drilling I polished up all the edges with the ScotchBrite wheel on the bench grinder. In the PM I went to the airport and flew two lessons. Rainy day tomorrow, so I get a day in the shop!
