Brief Description:  Worked on ribs.

Deburred ribs most of the day. Started by deburring all straight surfaces and places where trimming had left a cut edge. After finishing this step on all 56 ribs I went out and got the mail, because I was hoping my shipment of new 1" ScotchBrite wheels would be there to use on the scalloped edges on all the ribs. No luck, so I figured out how to angle the work so I could use the 6" wheel. See photo #2. Two passes, one each side, does the job, smooth as baby's butt. Finished all but 10 or 12 ribs using this technique. My back finally gave out from sitting in the same position all day so I took a break from the deburring and jumped ahead to install some nutplates.

My plan now is to finish the deburring that I can do with the big wheel, then switch to hand tools to deburr all the little nooks and crannies. When the 1" wheels come I'll use them to deburr the inside curves resulting from the lightening holes. After ALL the deburring is done, I'll flute all the ribs to straighten them. After that I plan to temporarily install the various types of ribs on the left main spar as specified. Then I will know which ribs (the leftovers) are for the right wing, and I'll put those away for now. Last but not least, I'll number all the ribs as installed, remove, and prime before the "real" install for the wing skeleton buildup.

Long day today, without much visual gratification!
