Brief Description:  Prepped VS skins

Lower rudder attach bracket still didn't look right. The bearing is not really seated. Drilled out the five rivets (again) and disassembled again. Re-assembled with bearing properly seated. Had to pass #40 drill through the holes in order to get the rivets in. Re-riveted the assembly, this time correctly - looks good at last. Primed and set aside. May not have needed to do above, because the bearing in all probability would have worked fine, but it wasn't up to my standards and it bugged me!

Final drilled VS skin holes, deburred, dimpled. Drilled, dimpled, installed all those pesky nutplates. Tried on the big skin and clecoed enough to see it will fit. Next time - remove skin, smooth all the sheet metal edges, check all the ribs & internal parts one more time, clean up the finger smudges, and cleco the skin onto the skeleton. OMG, it might actually look like a hunk of airplane!

At 3 PM local, met up with Marty (W9EAA) on 20 meters. Was joined by one guy in Texas, and one in Delaware. Texas faded out so we went over to 40M where the three of us could all hear each other. Was fun, but tough to find a frequency/time combination where propagation will allow a widely based net.
