Brief Description:  More final assembly work.

Took pictures for yesterday's work. Checked prop blades for any looseness, as reported on one or two airplanes by VAF. Re-checked trim calibration. Installed seats. Checked stabilator cables for proper tension. OK at 35 lbs, ready for new clips.

Retrieved my little cube heater from the T hangar and set it to running in the baggage compartment. Laid the aft window over the top to warm up. Then installed using clecos.

Sanded the backside of the canopy protrusions in an attempt to relieve the interference between them and the avionics bay cover. Test installed with two washers on right side and one on left. Not only did this make the canopy arm stick out to the side, but the conflicting area was still a problem to the point of scratching the paint. Ouch!

Called Rob this morning and he assures me that whatever damage is necessary to the paint can be repaired. So, we marked the top corners of the canopy hinge point for surgery (see picture.) I'll check the original drawings before doing the corner-ectomy.

Discussed the tailcone modification options with Tom and Bill. There are several good options, I will decide tomorrow which way to go.

Pastor Pete showed up late in the day just in time to be put to work - this is an occupational hazard of visiting me in the big hangar these days. We completed installing most of the screws for the rear window before quitting for the day.
