Brief Description:  Worked on tail feathers.

Taped protection (vinyl cutting boards stolen from the kitchen) to the empennage. Installed the vertical stabilizer, still bubble wrapped from yesterday's transport, and torqued down all 12 mounting bolts.

Went to the hardware store for some fresh super glue gel. Glued all the washers to the stabilator mounts. Matched the height of the stab to the tail structure using foam and bubble wrap on the workbench. Enlisted the support of Bill to slide the stab forward and line it up. Amazingly we got both bolts in on the first try without dislodging the washers.

Torqued the bolts using Bill's rounded-end 1/4" extension. Connected the stabilator control cables and tightened the cables. Had a lot of trouble getting the tensionometer to get an accurate reading. Bill got under the airplane and found a way to make it work. I actually had it too tight! Backed off to 40 lbs, but failed the "three threads at each end" test. Was way off between the two turnbuckles and even end to end. Will disconnect the turnbuckles and start over in the morning.

Reassembled and installed the trim servo and linkages.
