Brief Description:  Worked on fiberglass and aluminum paint prep.

Repaired the last(?) two or three pinholes. Blew off and ScotchBrited all fiberglass parts, cleaned with glass cleaner and solvent. Moved all fiberglass parts to garage.

Removed blue plastic, cleaned, and ScotchBrited stabilator and trim tabs. Stored all smaller aluminum parts that have been roughed up into garage.

Carolyn came up and we removed the flaperons from the wings, repositioned the fuselage and installed the wings on the fuselage. I then marked the wing skins for the 1/8" clearance to the rubber seal strip that will be applied after paint. Tested all lights - the landing light works in both modes, but the nav/strobes are dead. Will have to troubleshoot when fuselage is in the shop.

Went inside the shop to warm up (why didn't I do this in the summer?) and cleaned and roughed up the flaperons. Then got CJ back up to help remove the wings and move the right wing into the shop. Roughed up the ding from the flying unguided missile (See entry of 5/2/2009) and filled the dent with epoxy/micro mixture. Tested the lights with a battery and all worked - so the problem is not in the wing. Removed landing light lens to remove blue masking tape. I never did like the way it fit, and I think I will rework it.

Next major project is to trim the wing skins at the root to the 1/8" line. Haven't figured out which tool to use for this yet.
