Brief Description:  Primed fiberglass.

I got home from flying and prepped my face for painting. That is, I shaved the beard to achieve a good seal with the brand new respirator I had earlier purchased at ACE. Good thing too - see below. Not even a whiff of paint stink with the mask on.

In the late afternoon CJ and I moved the fuselage out of the shop. I cleaned the shop and put up some drop cloths and did some masking. Also drained the water out of the compressor. Rob arrived about 7 and we did some more masking and prep work. Rob set up for priming, mixed the paint, and dressed in his moon suit. The application went very well. We got four coats on everything. Most surfaces look really good, with just a few pin holes to cope with.

I took two pictures of Rob spraying, one with flash, one without. The air looked quite clear to the naked eye, with the exhaust fan running there didn't seem to be much paint in the air. Until I looked at the flash picture! What a great advertisement for the use of a respirator.

Next - wet sanding with 600 paper and a few pinhole repairs.
