Brief Description:  Cowling essentially finished!

The cowing fiberglass work is finished!

Started the day by contouring the cooling shroud where I added the trench for the #2 exhaust. Then squeegeed on a coat of epoxy slightly thickened with the ground glass Don had given me. Painted the inside of the duct with flat black high temp paint. Then had to do some fixup and re-coat. While epoxy and paint were drying I installed the steps on both sides, and repaired the upper cowl right rear corner by splicing on a thin piece of scrap fiberglass material. Used 5 minute epoxy. Was easier than I thought.

Mixed up the 4 oz batch of epoxy/flox and glued the lower cowl/cooling duct/interface together as instructed. Had quite a bit of the mixture left over that nearly caught on fire when I wasn't watching it! I guess I mixed up too much, had too much left over.

Installed lower and upper cowl with all rods and screws for the epoxy to cure in position.

Next session will be to remove clecos (hope they don't come out too hard), fill holes, and do a little trimming on the upper cowl corners.
