Brief Description:  Worked on cowl fit.

Worried about the cowling fit all night! Visions of ordering a new cowl and starting over. Went to the shop at 7 AM. Taped evrything in place with duct tape and began sanding a little here, a little there. An hour of that and I have a pretty good fit, I think, except for that one gap. I may have to try and build that area up with some resin and glass for cosmetics. Fitted the top cowl, and clecoed and taped it in place. Needs to be trimmed at the aft end on the left side abut 1/4 inch, tapered all the way across the top down to nothing on the right side. Going to have David look at it and see if he agrees. Dave has a good eye - he restored a TR-6 when he was 17.

Later - David and I sanded a bit more. I think the fit is about as good as it's going to get. At the spinner it is aligned left right and up down, so it will look good and be aerodynamic. Need to make one more cut on the top cowl aft edge - see photo. I have one gap remaining from my overenthusiastic trimming the other day. I may try to add a little fiberglass filler to fill the gap, or just leave it. Have to see how much it bothers me after the final fit and riveting.

In the PM had lots of visitors for my birthday - all my "little friends" came to see the project.
