Finished Mark's CFI recommendation paperwork this morning and saw him off to Indiana. Got to spend the afternoon in the shop.
First, I finished marking the cowl hinges. I modified the tool I had made to facilitate marking drilling locations. Did this by enlarging the previous holes to 1/8" to accept the nose of a fat Sharpie marker. Used the tool to mark all the remaining hinge halves. I think these black on white blobs will show up well through the fiberglass, when the time comes to install the cowling halves.
Moved on to finishing the tail cone. Really took my time and sanded a little bit at a time. I think the fit is quite good. Installed all the clips, nutplates, and such. Need to reinstall the tail feathers before going further.
