Brief Description:  Began avionics kit.

Back at it after our trip to New York City and other distractions. Removed all three instrument panel sections. Marked and clipped the four wires from the light/switch that is mounted on the middle panel. Will extend those when I reinstall. Glad I didn't rivet in the center section.

Scraped off the epoxy that had run down onto the panel. Sanded down all the previous paint and filled the holes in the countersunk rivets around the map box.

Started the avionics kit install.Labelled and installed the main control board. Installed fuses and spares. Installed the Dynon mounting tray. Had to remove material from the side next to the autopilot, then install the rivets, and file off one side to clear the AP box. Test fitted the AP and the Dynon box to make sure everything fit.

Next I will file a bit more to allow a smoother slide-in of the AP box, then re-paint all three panels in the black paint as before.

Advice to future builders: Don't waste your time prettying up the panel sections the first time you install them. They will just get messed up and you will have to repaint after Dynon box and AP install.
