Since last entry we found that Univair has elevator spars and replacement parts cheaper than we first thought. Ordered and received two new spars and the doublers required by the AD. Also pulled two more 195 elevator skins from new old-stock to make the left and right elevators from.
Made an arrangement with Craig, the summer employee, to have his help part-time. Today we cleaned all the skins, spars and miscellaneous parts, and Chris primed them with a bunch of his parts.
I laid out the one large wing panel and trimmed to fit using the old panel as a template. Also cleaned and primed.
After Craig left for the day I got out the stuck cylinder and checked it - still stuck. Dumped in a half bottle of Marvel Mtstery Oil and appplied shop air - left it hooked up hoping the pressure will drive the oil into the stuck area.
During the previous weeks our reconditioned camshaft arrived, so we can start engine reassembly when time permits.
