Brief Description:  Lots of riveting on the rudder.

Went to airport in the AM. Bill and I reviewed all for documentation from the 1996 engine overhaul to get a feel for where we stand good parts vs. questionable. Seems as though we have a good case, crankshaft, and cylinder parts. The cam is a bit of a mystery, as to how an out-of-tolerance part got installed. Now we have to wait for the crank to come back, and to see if we are going to get a good cam from the fellow in AK.

Bill and I looked for a sheet of .020 to make the last big wing skin from, but found they are down to hte last sheet and decided to wait on that. I then resumed work on the rudder. Set up the jig with the laser and started riveting the trailing edge. After about 10 or so rivets i could see I was wandering off track. Drilled out the rivets.

Came up with a way to clamp the edge straight while riveting and that worked much better. Riveted entire trailing edge and got it pretty straight. Final fitted the taillight housing and riveted. Riveted in the remaining side of the "auxillary spar". Riveted on the cap and installed the eight -4 rivets near the base. Did end up with two "dings" in the skin that will have to be filled before paint. :(

Have a couple of spots where I need advice on how to rivet in extremely tight quarters. Need to run a string for the light wire. Then rivet in the spar and be done!
