Brief Description: Picked up the wings, tail, engine.
Bill and I got this adventure started by mating my wing rack with his venerable flat bed trailer, and setting off in the cold rain to Ken Sherwood's place up in the hills behind Mayfield. N72851 has a rather convoluted chain of ownership, but suffice it to say Ken is the current owner. Most of the the airplane has been stored for many years in Ken's garage and workshop.
All pieces are pretty much covered with years of dust, and there is a lot more surface corrosion than we had expected due to the Adirondack dampness. Every part yielded about a month's supply of squirrel food.
The fuselage is in Bill's barn, and we will have plenty of work to do on the wings and other parts before we need to retrieve it.
