Brief Description: Getting Started
|
|
Well, here we go! This is the first entry of what will be many hundreds (thousands??) over the next few years. I'm scratch building this Bearhawk (well, at least the fuselage; we'll see how I feel about that when the fuselage is done ;-)
So far I have cleared up the shop, built the fuselage jig table, marked out the horizontal stab on the table top, and made the tube bending bits, so there aren't any more excuses. I do need to pick up some lag screws at Home Dumpo to attached the bending blocks to the table. I'll do that tomorrow.
You'll note that I built the table with an overhang, under which I put some angle bracket supports which stores all of the 4130 tube for the airplane.
I have been learning to weld on the side, but I won't log that here. I bought the Meco torch, light weight hose, and tips from TM Technologies (Tin Man Tech) and they are top quality products. The torch and hose are extremely light and easy to use.
