Brief Description:  R-Elev Tip: Sanding and shaping

I actually started sanding the elevator tip yesterday and noticed that I actually needed to build up a fair amount and that I needed to strengthen the forward-outboard part of the tip so I did another layup of glass externally and a single layup on the inside radius where the new "face" meets the elevator tip - just for additional strength but making sure not to impede the space for the counterweight itself. Unfortunately I don't have any photo's of that as I hadn't really planned to do it, it just sort of "happened".

Today, I cleaned up the layup and sanded the tip to shape. I then clecoed the tip back on th elevator to check shape and countinued to sand to get the face of the tip at the same profile as that of the counterweight skin. Was actually a fair bit of sanding needed - I found tht my orbital sander actualy worked fairly well here.

There are one or two places that still need a small amount built up but I know want to check the lines against that of the HS Tip to see how the lines flow from one to the next.
