Brief Description: RD: Rivetting spar and understructure
Rivetted the top rib sub-assembly together (R713, R703) with the pneumatic squeezer, leaving the last three holes unrivetted as per the instructions. Then enlarged the holes to #12 to accept the screws for the lead counter balance weight, deburred and dimpled appropriately. Counter sunk the lead weight and assembled the top rib sub-assembly.
Rivetted the top two spar re-enforcement plates and the corresponding platenuts into position also using the pneumatic squeezer. Took it slowly, making sure that all rivets were set perfectly.
Then moved on the bottom rib an the rudder horn sub-assembly. I Squeezed all those rivets that I could reach easily with the pneumatic squeezer and then called it a night. I'd rather take on the rivets of the rudder horn assembly whilst slightly less bleary eyed!
