Brief Description:  Rivet Web Platenuts, start on Tie Down Spacers

I had some problems identifyying the correct platenuts for the spar web but there ended up being only one type that fitted and demed them to be the K1000-04 spacers as required. I match drilled them to the spar web, ountersunk as directed and then rivetted themto the spar web.

I then started on the wing tie downs and the manufacture of the tie down spacers. As their have been many accounts of people axperiencing issues with the rivet clearance distances and having to redo the job with new tie downs, I cut the flat bar stock to the same size as the width of the tie down bracket itself. This will give me the ability to angle the platenuts later thus increasing the edge distance which has caused problems for others.

Using a hole cutter, I cut holes out on thedrill press and finished off the spacers on the belt sander and finally the scotchbrite wheel.
