Brief Description:  Elev Tips: Re-enforcing tips and match drilling

I cut four strips of aluminium - sized shaped and smoothed them out. I then mixed up a batch of quick-set epoxy and proceeded to epoxy the strips to the inside of the Elevator tips to act as a re-enforcing for the rivets. I left the epoxy to cure for around and hour (just to be safe) and then drilled to #40 using the existing holes as a guide.

I then cleco'ed the tips to the respective elevators and preceeded to match drill to #30. Once I had drilled both tips to #30, I removed the tips and was shacked to see the the aluminium strips had come completely loose as a reulst of the match drilling. Only two holes on the one tip had in fact been drilled out to #30 whilst the drill had pushed the strip away in every other instance! Need to make another plan it would seem! :(
