Brief Description: L-HS & L Elev Tip: Sanding, shaping, strengthening
A lot of sanding agaoin, especially ti the L-HS tip after having being built up again. Took quite a while but I sanded it whilst it and the L-Eev tip were still cleco'ed to the HS and clamped into place. This allowed me to make sure the L-HS tip conformed to and extended the lines of the L-Elev tip,
I then filed a bit of the face of the counterweight off an rounded the corners (basically enought to make a gap for some flox to strengthen the face of the L-Elev tip. I mixed up a batch of resin, split some off and mixed up a batch of flox and then a batch of icro with the rest. I placed the flox on the inside of the face and sdes of the L-Elev tip (wherever it would touch the counterweight) and clecoed the L-Elev tip back into place. This caused the flox which I had just applied to force itself into the shape in the gap we created between the tip and the counterweight.
I then applied the micro as required (fairly liberally) to both the L-HS and L-Elev tips to smooth out the previous flox applications. Left to cure
Tips sanded to shape again
counterweight corners rounded and 0.75mm removed from face
Counterweight wrapped up in box tape to stop resin adhering to weight
