Brief Description: R-Elev Tip: Sand tip joggle and micro balloon
I removed the cleco's to give me more room to sand. I then started sanding down the flox to get it flush with the elevator skin. It proved to be fairly slow going so I removed the tip from the elevator and ripped out the orbital sander again and that really hot things done much faster (all things considered). I was very carefull not to "over sand", using the line the skin had made in the flox as a guide and did regular fittings to the elevator during the process.
When I was happy with the fit, I cleaned up the tip again with some acetone and then mixed up some micro balloons. I re-cleco'ed the tip to the skin and applied the microballons along the length to fill up any rough spots left by the flox - I'll leave this to dry for the day.
Sanding down the flox to make a new joggle
Near perfect seam between elevator and tip
Micro ballons applied to smooth over flox "roughness"
