Brief Description:  L-Elev: Elevator tab folding

Next up were the elevator tabs. I used the same bending blocks as used for the trim tab's. The only modification was to sand the "sharp end" of the inside bending block to accomodate the non-parallel/tapered trailing edge of the elevetor.

I needed to use a few pieces of sturdy wood to get sufficient clearnce to allow me the use of both clamps to ensure the work was extrememly secure and not likely to move.

Even with the thicker skin of the elevator, a block of wood and a hammer was all that was needed to persuade the elevator tabs to conform to my will! In no time at all, the elevator tabs were suitable bent and I removed the work from the clamps. What I did notice here though was that the slight overhang of the work over the workbecnch that I had left to gain better access when bending the bottom tab upwards had actually marred the surface slightly and also distorted the last 5mm of the elevator trailing edge ever so slightly. You won't see it unless you're looking - I was looking. Next time though - no over hang!

Yeehah! - All tab bending done with great results and no overspend! ;)
