Brief Description:  L-Elev: Trim Servo mounting bracket

I had some time available on Saturday morning so I grabbed the opportunity and dived into the shop for a few minutes.

During this time, I rivetted the the servo attachment Z-channel brackets to the inspection cover plate with a "wet layup". I checked th fit and everythong seems to work great. What I did notice though is that the servo touches the shop head of the rivets... so much so that it doesn't lie flat against the bracket itself until such time as it is actually bolted down.

I won't mount the servo now though as the sub-assembly has yet o get a shot of primer.

I also grabbed the opportunity to make the bending blocks for the bending of the elevator tab. I laminated two pieces of a hard chipboard together for some extra width and thewn cut them to my desired profile. What I also did was to slightly round the corners around which the bends would be. By rounding I mean I basically just got rid of the really sharp 90deg corner on the wood as I was scared the bend would be too sharp and may result in a cracked bend. I also rounded the "trailing edge point" such that the bending block fitted snuggly into the inner radius on the traling edge bend on the elevator skin. I then lightly scored the surfaces which would be expected to grip the skins in a hatch pattern in the hopes of maybe increasing the grip somehow. Whether my bending blocks works though, we'll have to tomorrow to wait to find out
