This entry covers 2/15 thru 2/18. We completed the installation of the Nose Strut Fairing prior to the main gear fairings. It was easier to do while the nose gear was leveled and in position. Completed section 48-20, 48-21, and 48-22. In addition to the nose fairing we extended the tow bar hooks outward of the pant and installed a 3/8 helicoil in the nose gear fork. The helicoil is to prevent the threads that Vans has you tap in the aluminum, from eventually deteriorating with use. The extension outward of the tow attachment is to provide a larger engagement for the tow bar to prevent it from slipping off and damaging the wheel pant.
