Brief Description: Rivet of Aileron Hinge Bracket Assembly - W414
Install W-413L&R and W-414L&R aileron brackets on rear spar. See Builder’s Manual section INSTALLING THE AILERON BRACKETS in the RIVETING THE WING SKIN Section and DWG 13A.
INSTALLING THE AILERON BRACKETS Assemble the W-413 and W-414 Aileron bracket assemblies as shown on DWG 10A. Install them on the rear spar by lining up the matched holes, drilling, deburring, and riveting.
I did this very carefully. The outbaord/inbord facing rivets were quite easy to set with the squeezer. The fore/aft rivets however werequite challenging. The squeezer could only reach the first three rivets. The remaining needed to be bucked. Given they were so long I needed pressure circa 80psi on the rivet gun. Three of the Four rivets worked very well. The last rivet wil need to be removed and redone.
