I kept eyeballing the prop cutout on the spinner. It just looked like too much clearance on the forward end. I rechecked the template, it looked good. I checked the template AGAIN: It seems the line I was supposed to line up with the back of the spinner is very faint and extremely hard to see. Bottom line (no pun intended), I line it up with the wrong line on the drawing and now have and additional 9/16" clearance. A little much. I am going to order a new spinner.
Everybody that I work with can now put your hands down.
After that discovery, I lock wired the prop, alternator, and dipstick. One more item off the to-do list.
