Brief Description: Finished up the backup alternator
I need to get some pics up. Its on my list. Today, I finished up the regulator wiring. I added three annunciator lights to the panel: 1. B/U Alt. on line AMBER 2. EFIS alarm RED 3. Boost pump on (I forget to turn it off quite often) BLUE
I ran the engine to verify everything OK. At first, everything was not OK. I pulled back into the hangar and checked out the wiring. All OK.I tried it again with higher RPMs and all is and was OK. It holds ~ 12.8 volts and the flashing overload indicator works fine. I can carry normal loads and one landing light or normal load and the fuel boost pump, but not both. I didn't try to kill the strobes. My guess is that I could turn off the strobes and be able to run a single landing light and the boost pump without overloading the B/U alternator.
I'll get some pics of the annuciator panel up tomorrow. I used the supplied alternator warn from B&C and the fancy "press to test" lights from ACS.
AND ANOTHER THING: My second canopy arrived today. Too bad the temps are too low to start cutting.
The red light is for the EFIS, the Blue is for the fuel pump running
