Brief Description: Rivetted fuel tank Z bracket nut plates
I riveted all the nut plates to the fuel tank z brackets today. It was my first time squeezing a rivet since the move. I missed it more than I thought, good news there is a whole airplane to finish ahead of me!
The nut plates went on without too much trouble. I had previously drilled, countersunk(for oops rivets) and clecoed the nut plates on. Using the oops rivets and the pneumatic squeezer I riveted the unclecoed sides, pulled the clecos and then rivets the remaining 3 holes. There were a couple of rivets on the nut plates I had to drill out as they collapsed to the side when squeezing and didn't sit flush. I attribute it mostly to the to 6 months it has been since I riveted anything.
