I really messed up a rivet on the under side right outboard spar where the aleron bracket gets riveted to the spar/rib. After talking to my tech advisor about how best to proceed I fabricated the doubler, This took a few steps, first was cutting a piece of 1/8th inch AL to the right size. Next I used the scotch bright wheel to break teh edges and match the inside curve of the spar. I then placed it on the spar and marked the two end, one overlapping the rib and the other butting up against an existing rivet. I then proceeded to use a file to remove the material neccesary to allow the doubler to sit flush over the rib. I match drilled and fine tuned the fit. I then cleaned, primed, and rivetted it in place. Iam confident that this is a safe and structuraly sound repair.
