Brief Description:  Left rudder prep work

Today I finished the left rudder parts. I countersunk the holes on the E609-PP, E702, and both E714(lead weights). I was able to use the countersink cage for the air drill for most of the work, but there were two holes on the E702 that I didn't have the clearance. I went to Ace and got a coupling that was the right size for the threads on the countersink head. This allowed me to chuck it into my drill press and very carefull sounter sink these two holes(I also pulled out the E702 for the Right side and did those as well, I had left them).

I used a generic countersink bit on the lead weights, it worked well, other than a little chatter which I atribute to the gummy characteristcs of the lead.

In addition I beveled the E-713's on the bench grinder.

The only prep work left on the elevators is now dimpling of the E-713's, I plan to order an extra bolt and nut to create the dimple by fitting the bolt and tightening it down into the dimples on the E-714.

Onto the trim tab.
