The battery bay door has been much more difficult than originally thought. The space is an odd shape polygon with varying dimensions as you go from the top to the bottom and various firewall supports to consider when trying to block off the space.
I got the door cut to the right size, it has gaps around the side, but is as big as it can be and still open, I considered orienting the door other ways but short of a slide in panel I didn't see another way. I may yet opt for a bolt in panel.
Once the door was cut I then went to work on the support for the door, I'm using some extra stiffener material on teh firewall as well as the gear tower to support the door. I then had to create an trim piece that will fill the gaps around the door when it's closed to keep things from falling into the compartement.
I got the parts fitted to my satisfaction and started to dimple the gear tower when my pop rivet tool broke.
