Brief Description:  Aileron Balance & prep

Plane has been at the painters for 4 weeks. Torture waiting for it. Wings and flaps/ailerons are finally done. Spent a lot of time balancing the ailerons and counterweights now that they are painted. Finally got them nice and level/balanced per the plans. Also spent a lot of time figuring out how to sand down and re-buff/compond/shine the clearcoat runs around a few rivets. Painter got runs because he didn't count on the clearcoat catching & gathering on the rivets, then running. Hope to death that the clearcoat on the fuselage comes out better. Glad they started on the flaps/ailerons first. Plane should be fully painted and ready for reassembly at the airport next weekend!!! The color is amazing - it changes color depending on the lighting and the angle, from deep copper to reddish copper to burnt-orange to yellow and even to green at certain angles. Very metallic and glossy. The color makes you stare at it and move your head around because it changes. Kind of silly-flashy-fancy. Just like I wanted - kind of crazy.
