As I had some more parts turn up yesterday, the work on the wings continued.
The flare tool arrived so I flared the air vent lines of both fuel tanks and fitted both. As I had already installed the inner fuel tank ribs I had to gently bend the air vent lines into a curve as I was installing them into the tanks. It didn't prove to be difficult, just a little more time consuming. The pics of the line shown are in the port fuel tank.
I then removed the lower inner wing skins of both wings from the wing frames and taped the NACA vent templates to the inside surface of the wing skins. I taped the NACA vents themselves over the paper templates. I plan to use CS 4-4 blind rivets on these, with a washer on the inside in direct contact with the NACA, vent so the washers can protect the NACA vent from damage whilst pulling the blind rivets with the pop riveter.
I have already cut a second entry vent for a second NACA vent in the port lower inner wing skin. I will use this to feed cooling air to the rear seat, while the starboard vent will feed the front seat. As it gets quite hot here in Texas during the summer, I think I and my passenger will need all the cooling air we can get.
