I sealed the rivets for the left tank fuel cap housing and the stiffeners rivets. I also sealed the stiffener edges. I did try a cotton bud for these jobs but found it far easier to use a narrow bladed electrical screwdriver, the same screwdriver I used to mix the sealer and hardener.
I also use an automotive hand cleaner after work and it cleans my hands very well.
