I fitted the rod end bearings to the rudder and elevators. Adjusted to the correct lengths, (64ths) are very small measurements. Fitted the rudder to the VS, and fitted the elevators to the HS. The elevators bearings needed a little adjustment, then refitted elevators to the HS, so I could measure how much I'd need to trim off of the outboard end of the HS to give the elevators free movment.
After marking the HS so I knew how much to trim off, I removed the elevators.
