Brief Description:  Installed cabin heat cable and more.

Today I routed the cabin heat cable from the panel to the heat shuttle. I took my time in figuring out where on the panel the control knob should be located. I am running out of room, but I located the knob on the right side just below where the panel screws to the F-745 ribs. I was careful so there would not be any interference between the nut, lockwasher, and rib. I added a nutplate further along the rib to aid in the routing of the cable and then down through the F-601 stiffener where I had drilled a #10 hole earlier per the plans. Trimming the control cable is not as easy as one might think. It is very tough to cut and you have to be careful not to cut the inner cable. I ended up using a Dremel cutter. Once the outer jacket is cut, it will slide off easy. The heat control works fine now. I will still have to disassemble everything since I still have work to do to the tip up canopy and I will not want the control panel to get damaged. I also cut out the areas where the ELT and GPS antenna’s attach to the RG400. I did not want the connectors touching any metal surfaces. I alodined the reworked areas and added a couple of pieces of plastic border protectors to give it a nice look. Big news last Friday…I ordered the engine, prop, and everything to hook it up. 32K was the cost…ouch.
