Brief Description:  Firewall hole locations.

Today I primed both elevator control rods. These were made a while back but I just never got to priming them for some reason? I also wrote Ken Scott at Van’s and received a quick reply. I wanted to know if the firewall forward drawing revision R4 was still current. It seems that the location of the firewall penetration points have changed a few times and I wanted to make sure I had the latest drawing before starting to drill holes. Ken indicated that I was current so I went ahead and drilled the holes for the throttle, mixture, carburetor heat, and the nose wheel clearance hole. I also pilot drilled the prop control cable hole and the cabin heat inlet hole. I only drilled these to # 40 because the cabin heat inlet hole is 2 inches and I don’t have the Greenlee punch that size. I hesitated to finish the prop control hole to 5/8 just because I want to be certain things don’t change in the future? I marked the coordinates of the gascolator but the instructions indicated to drill with the assembly. I also finished the F-746 engine control brackets, both front and back. I noticed that Van’s shorted me some of the MS21919DG6 clamps or perhaps these come with the firewall forward kit? I also applied a bead of high temperature RTV to the inside of the heater area of the forward floor cover. I put on order the glove box with Van’s and some electrical items with B&C Electrical.
