Before embarking on a parking brake valve make double sure you need one as you will be introducing extra points for leaks. My reasoning is simply when I stop on a slope it is there to get the chocks in and turn it off again - no other reason.
I suggest you read all three Park Brake posts as the system evolved during the build.
Whilst admiring the handy work of the pipes shown in the first photo I realised something was not quite right - yes another Homer moment - DOH - the parking brake! To dig myself out of the hole I tried to utilise the existing pipes and to my relief it worked OK using AN823-4D's - so this could also be a retrofit. Thanks to Andy Hill's installation for inspiration.
The valve is orientated so that the lever (1) goes up to close and down to open. To close it I will install the ACS T-Handle Dash Control (05-15000 from LAS Aero) secured with the Vans wire nut kit (HW WIRE NUT KIT).
I bolted the park brake valve with A113-8D's (2) (these have a mushroom head so will not snag items in the forward baggage bay]. The fittings on F-866D Mounting Plate were rotated through 45 degrees and I will fit a pipe between them to the red plug holes when my AN816-4D's arrive.
Below the handle next to the mounting plate (3) I installed a MS21053-L08 lug nutplate with an AN509-8R8 screw that has been drilled with a #51 hole initially. This will secure a spring to the lever that serves two purposes (1) retracts the park brake cable when released and (2) in the event the wire nut to the bowden cable fails/loosens the spring will open the valve and allow normal braking.
