Used a mini scotchrbite wheel to treat the edges of the steel firewall and then sanded all the nooks and crannies in between each tab...got there in the end without drawing blood!
Then moved onto dimpling the holes in the firewall....checked the plans about ten times before starting the first dimple as scared of dimpling the wrong way round! Dimples are set on the forward side (apart from a couple) so managed to not screw that up. Had a bit of help from Ethan setting the dimples and with a small step ladder to give him leverage to set the dimples.
Just before the wife sent both of us to bed we started to countersink a couple of the supporting braces which will mate with the dimples on the firewall. Making progress with satisfyingly big pieces!
