Brief Description: Plate for additional cowl slot length.
I fabricated the cowl cover plate for the extended slot in the lower cowl. I made the plate out of .063 aluminum and used AN509-8R8 screws and K1000-08 nutplates. I countersunk the plate so the screws would be nice and flush. I rounded the front part of the plate for what I thought was a nice look. I primed the plate with self-etching zinc chromate. The screws that are called out on drawing 45 may be a bit long so I will check to see if there is any interference with the carb air box when I install the cowl next time.
